We are currently seeking a dedicated Primary Transition Teacher to join a progressive Secondary School in Manchester. In this role, you will play a vital part in facilitating the transition process for students moving from primary to secondary school. You will engage with local primary schools, offering support and guidance to both students and staff to ensure a seamless transition experience.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Year 7 nurture groups within the secondary school community. Your role will involve embedding these groups into secondary school life, providing them with the necessary support and resources to thrive in their new environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with local primary schools to facilitate a smooth transition process for students.
- Provide support and guidance to primary school staff in preparing students for secondary education.
- Work with Year 7 nurture groups to help them integrate into secondary school life.
- Develop and implement strategies to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of transitioning students.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive transition environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working in primary education and/or with transition programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Passion for supporting students' holistic development.
